Asians

i know like indiana is like mainly white. Give me the honest truth, are asians like integrated into the college crowd or like their separate enclave

It really is up to the individual. From my observations/experience, International students seem to stay away from the U.S. students.

well i am from jersey, what about easterners , you guys dont have any issues with them right

About 1/3 of the students are from out-of-state--and most of these are from the Midwest and Northeastern (including New Jersey) sections of the country.

Here's Alumni by Georgraphic Region--and asians (ethnicity, not region) are 3.5% of all students.

azn sensation! Go azns..we're takin over the world.
on 2nd thought..should i go 2 IU with only 3.5% azn? how azn life there.......give me a feel

Zouman-I can't really give you a feel about life in Bloomington for Asian students but can tell you about some things you probably won't find in IU materials---

Within areas frequented by students there are 3 or 4 Asian grocery stores, there is the Tibetan Cultural Center (away from campus--the Dalai Lama's brother was an IU professor. The Dalai Lama has made several visits to Bloomington, the most recent was last fall.) and a Buddhist monastery in Bloomington, also a Korean church that is across the street from campus, in the downtown area there are numerous Asian restaurants including Thai and Tibetan. There is also the Asian Cultural Center. Here is the link

Despite it's midwestern location, Bloomington thrives on the rich cultural diversity of it's students and professors.
