what are you planning to do with a philosophy major? i thought about that route but i wasn’t sure what i would exactly do…

Hello! Thank you for starting this very nice thread! Many of my friends apply to UCLA this year for transfer. One of my friends have a question with regard to English course for UCLA, which is that his first language is not English. And he actually received a grade of C in English 1A. However, according to UC transfer matrix, UCLA claims that non-native students have to pass the 2 English courses with the grade of B or better.

Does this mean my friend will not be considered and have zero chance for UCLA admission, even if my friend has already applied and has a great GPA? This also confuses me. Thank you!

2012 UCLA transfer student as well!!
I’m a socio major, transferred from Cypress College.
Live in the University Apartments.
at the time of application I had 3.57, at transfer I had I believe 3.64.
IGETC and pre-reqs all completed.
and yesss, those tricks did work =P

@Citiz3nerased I heard that getting a university apartment is hard for a transfer student. Is that true? Do you have a studio apt or do you share?

I actually know quite a few transfers in the apartments…However, I also saw on the ucla transfer facebook page that many got placed on campus, despite not even listing it as an option…
I’m in a studio with 1 roomate…yes it’s small, but it’s definitely larger than a dorm room and tons cheaper.
Originally we were placed in a 1 bedroom, but due to a high rate of room acceptances they had to place us in a studio instead…
Also, take a look on the transfer fb pages for potential roomates…that’s where I found mine, and we requested each other :)

oops, accidentally posted in the original trick thread.

@philosoup

for this trick, how close to the decision release date does it have to be to work? I’m guessing that since they haven’t come out with freshmen decisions yet, they probably haven’t even reviewed transfer applications. Ahhh so excited!!!
