Newman hall is the catholic dorm, isn’t it? In that case yeah, you should expect a little less partying than normal. My brother is going to stay there and he’s pretty much the opposite of a party animal hahaha

Ah my bad i got confused with Allen Hall! Totally my bad! Shows how much summer has affected me lol. Yeah newman hall is the catholic dorm. It has an okay dining hall, but yeah i’m guessing theres less party students there compared to other dorms. Don’t worry about it though, you should be able to find students with your interests at most dorms.

I lived in Newman Hall. Definitely plenty of party people. It’s nice if you live in the suites because then you have the living room as a noise buffer when you are in your bedroom.

I’m a junior studying finance in the College of Business. Hit me up if you have questions.

How’s Babcock?

Are the girls hot?

LOL. There’s plenty of hot girls everywhere on campus, I live in PAR freshman year and there was cute girls.

Babcock is okay, I live in the hall across, Carr. There’s no A/C so bring fans. There’s lots of cool people at PAR and the dining hall s probably the best on campus imo.

is PAR way too far away from everything? i think one of the LLCs i’m thinking about is in PAR.

nevermind, the LLC is actually in FAR. how is FAR? is it near the PAR dining hall?

PAR & FAR are actually near each other.

D got a brochure for Illio Yearbook and “New Student Record.” Wondering if students actually put their pictures and info in the New Student Record? It seems kind of unnecessary with FB groups. Also, is there any kind of student telephone/email contact directory that is published by the university?

Far is right across from PAR and you can go to any dining hall, but I preferred PAR more. FAR is a/c though so that’s a plus. I mean it is a cool place, it’s what you make of it. Buses run every ten minutes usually for all lines so it’s not far to the quad and classes.

Mommy; i never put my picture or contact info in there, and none of my friends have so i’m not sure.

^thanks bartnawer- I figured it was something to ignore

Hey bartnawer, I’m going to be a senior and am going to be applying to UIUC business school soon. I have a 3.99 unweighted GPA, 31 ACT, and top 5% class rank with a fair amount of ec’s. Just wanted to know if you think I will get in? What were you and some of your friends credentials?

^gbaby1- my D got into Business with very similar stats as yours (32 ACT & slightly lower GPA) She also had solid ECs. Write good essays and get your app in by priority deadline and you should have a good chance of getting in. Good luck

Gbaby; you have a good shot. I had a 32 and 3.5 uw gpa but much higher weighted one. Write a good essay and you should be good.

Hello! I will be applying to LAS this fall and I was just wondering if the supplement essays the school has listed on the site (although on a different page they say that the essays will not be up until next month) are usually the same every year…? I will not be in town for the next few weeks until school starts and I would really like to get a start on my essays before then…Thanks!

Yeah i’m pretty sure they are. One’s about extracurriculars and i forgot the other one.

They are really easy. Don’t worry about getting a head start. Make sure they are good though.

How was your financial aid? I’m in-state, and I’m still hoping to go for as little as possible.

Hello U of I student! :)

Is county market close to Math department??
I’m an incoming student.

Do you know what churches (religions) are in the area?
