Ask away- it's UChicago Prospective Students Advisory Committee

Thanks it came up after a couple of days from the initial submission.

However, I’m not sure what UChicago received or didn’t receive. My account says only Application received, is that the entire package, there’s no list saying that anything is missing, and the top says “we are currently processing early action applicants”.

How many students appied for CCIB program each year? How many got accepted?

I’m applying to UChicago as a transfer, and I’m applying to another school that requires three professors’ letters of recommendation. Would it help to send three recommendation letters to UChicago, since I have to ask three professors anyway, or should I just send two to UChicago?

Regarding application and recommendation questions - it is best to email the admissions office at collegeadmissions@uchicago.edu, or find your regional counselor here: https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/contact/.

I don’t know the exact statistics for CCIB, but at the meeting last year, they said about 60% are accepted.

hi grace, is it too late to submit a supplement recording? Cuz i just was able to get an accompanist for my solo

Yeah, I have a similar question. I submitted everything on time, but I’ve been wondering if it’s not too late to send in a creative writing sample to supplement my application.

They accepted my supplemental LOR a couple weeks late. Send it in.

Send in your arts supplements ASAP - we are still receiving/sorting them here in the office.

I’m applying for Fall 2011 transfer admissions. The earliest date available for TOEFL in my area is March 4, after the deadline. I applied for first year entrance last year so UChicago may still have my TOEFL test score (which I can’t retreive now because I took it 2 years ago). Should I still take the test?

Thanks!

Hey Grace, I was recently accepted EA, but I still have not received my financial aid package. Iwas also a Questbridge unmatched finalist. I did not turn in my CSS Non-Custodial Form because I am unable to furnish one. I am doing the waiver for that form, how long will it take for me to get an estimate. I wish they would do it because it would make no difference in my estimate.

Hello Grace,

I am a proud mom and my child does not know I am posting on here. He will be going to an interview at University of Chicago in the biological research science (PHD) area. After the interview, do you know how long it might be before he will hear back from them on whether he is accepted or not? Thanks.

@RajLon, you should look at the information offered by the Office of College Aid [Office of College Aid](http://collegeaid.uchicago.edu/) to see if they have an answer for you; I do not know the answer to this.

@proudmother2011, this forum is mainly for undergraduate admission questions; I would encourage your son to ask this at his interview, as I know for graduate admissions the response time after application or interview varies widely by program and department.

Hello Grace,

Does it hurt my chances of getting into The University of Chicago if I did not give the interview?

How long does it usually take for the University of Chicago to process a fee waiver sent in the mail? I believe my school sent the waiver out in early December and its status hasn’t been updated on Common App since then.

Gracello, Thank you!

Hello  First of all I would like to say thanks for doing this. This forum is just wonderful
I have some question regarding the interview. First of all, how important are the interviews? My interviewer was a bit shy so there were some awkward moments that troubled me. I am very talkative but I don’t know what happened during that interview. I know the interviewer is very nice and all but this is her first year interivewing so maybe she isn’t used to the interview scene. Would that affect my chances? Would she think I was rude? (I remember smiling at her and she smiling back, not knowing what to say next)
Also, I noticed that some of my classmates also signed up for the Chicago interview but didn’t get one. They was wondering why they didn’t get one? How does Chicago choose students to interview?
Thank you!

I am a sophomore in high school, and I was wondering about the type of classes I should enroll in for junior year. I don’t know whether to take human anatomy/physiology or physics. I want to major in psychology, so logically I’m thinking that anatomy would be the better choice. Although, I know that physics is the more rigorous/challenging course, and that is what UChicago looks for, difficulty of classes right? Physics is also one of the major sciences, so I really don’t know what to do. Should I take human anatomy/physiology or physics?

Hey Grace,

I tried faxing the supplemental recommendation letter; but, there was some problem at the other end. What should I do? Can I get it scanned and e-mail to the admissions office?

Thank you

Hey Grace,
Do you know anything about financial aid?
My family submitted my FAFSA on January 18th, but we used my brothers pin(not knowing we had to get my own) and we got a confirmation that UChicgao received it, but then we got a letter from UChicago on January 26th saying that we had to get my own pin. My pin came on February 1st and because of FAFSA’s website being down, we were unable to turn in my FAFSA until 4:30am on February 2nd. Does this jeopardize my financial aid?

Hi Grace, I’ve been looking at the University of Chicago for awhile and the school sounds great! However, I was wondering what type of role religion plays at the University. I’m very Christian and I don’t want to attend a school with people that will question or disrespect my beliefs. Is there a sizeable Christian Community on campus? Thank You.
