@Darksand99 Shaw does have community bathrooms. Some people like community bathrooms better so it’s personal preference. The College of Education is located in Erickson Hall:
@TheSpartan Thanks! Do you know where I can retrieve my MSU ID # because it says I need it to log into my account and pay the orientation fee. I see a PID #, a PAN #, an application ID #, and a NET ID email. Are any of these things the same #?
@Darksand99 I remember getting confused by all of the ID’s before too. Your PID is your MSU ID. The PAN # is used with the PID when you activate your Net ID I’m pretty sure.
if i get a 2.5 in one of my HB classes, will i still be able to apply? I know you need a 3.0 minimum in all HB classes, but would I still have a chance?
I looked backed at my transcript seeing that in my Eng 100 class I got a C- but in my Eng 102 class I passed with a C. Would I have to retake my Eng 100 class again?
I have a C- in my math class. I do not want to sound irresponsible, but I will note in fairness to myself that my teacher in new to teaching the subject, and is quite terrible as a teacher. In my class, this is universally agreed upon. Anyway, I have 3 A’s a B+ and a B along with this C-. I am taking my final soon, and I am scared that I will get a final grade of D. I got a B last semester and had a 3.5 overall last semester. What is the likelihood that Michigan State will rescind my admission? Thank you.
Hi, I got accepted into MSU during the fall. I had 3.58 gpa with an ACT score of 27.
First semester I ended with okay grades. However, second semester I am ending with these grades: A,B+,B-B-, C+ and a C-. Will my acceptence be revoked?
I’m happy to answer questions if @TheSpartan is unfamiliar with the topic or it’s relevant to what I know. Just tag me because I’m not on this forum that often.
I graduated in 2013 and went on to grad school. I was in RCAH and pursued a dual degree in anthropology. I was a very low income student and part of MSU’s Spartan Advantage program.
ETA: I also studied abroad, worked in Lansing, and interned with a state senator.
@TheSpartan@romanigypsyeyes Does housing place transfer students/do not place transfer students in any specific neighborhoods on campus? Or do they just place them randomly (if you didnt get to pick on the housing contract, i signed it too late)
I know McDonel Hall is a common place to put transfer students unless you’re in a living-learning community. If there’s no room there, they’ll stick you wherever there is room.
Things have changed in the last year or so though now that freshmen can pick where they live so I defer to Spartan.
Yeah as romani said most transfers get placed in McDonnel (which is where I ended up last year). I would imagine that you would most likely get placed in McDonnel as well, but if it is already filled with freshmen then you could end up anywhere. My guess is that Shaw, Sny-Phi, Case, Wilson, and probably Akers would have filled up already, and if that’s the case you could end up anywhere else.
Verizon will work on campus
2/3. East Lansing and campus in general are very safe. I guess I don't have any crime statistics for the area but I have never felt unsafe on campus, at att.
Hello. I am currently a high school junior with a 4.02 GPA and a 29 on the ACT. I’m going to be captain of my school’s quiz bowl team and I play tennis, golf, and am part of my community’s ski club. In addition I am a member of NHS. I took AP Language and AP American History this year and am going to take AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Literature and AP Government senior year to maintain a rigorous course load. I am wondering if I have a shot at making it into the honors college, as I am in the top 5% of my class but my ACT is not quite 30. I’m retaking it again and will hopefully hit that 30 mark. I went to the campus in April for quiz bowl states and was quite impressed at how beautiful it is. I am looking to go into the chemical engineering program. Thanks!
I think you’d have a really good chance to get into the Honors College. Even if you don’t get in, the top 10% of the freshmen class after fall semester gets invited, so if you did really well your first semester you could still be accepted.
My brother is a Michigan State ChemE grad. He and all of his friends that he graduated with are doing really well and were well-prepared for their careers.
