Hi - I am new to this Forum and just got my COSMOS decision today and was sad to learnt that i was not admitted 
I applied for the ML cluster at UCSC. I am USACO PLatinum and have also passed AP CS with a 5.
I am really disappointed and would be great to get feedback about how I could have done better

I was rejected from RSI, SIMR, UC Davis YSP, COSMOS (UCSD), and waitlisted at Garcia. It seems like I need to improve on my essays. Could anyone who has been accepted into any of these programs share some of the ideas they had in their essays or any examples if possible? Based on previous threads, it seems like you need to show your passion for science, but I’m not sure how to do that. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!
UF SSTP is an amazing program. Would 100% recommend going!

I wouldn’t worry too much about summer programs. Lots of them are based on luck and they really don’t help too much for college admissions (except for RSI and SIMR). I got into a majority of the programs you listed and was selected as an alternate for RSI. For my essays, i focused around my love for computer science and the quirky intricacies of failure. I talked about simulations and the practicality of 3d visualizations as well. If you need more help, feel free to PM me or ask here!

@GoBears2023 --Would you know of any Robotics Labs within universities that might be willing to entertain Freshmen for a short summer research project? I am asking for my S, who is into FTC and is finishing up with his freshman year. We live in the bay area.

Very good program. Definitely prepares students for undegrad research. One of the top 20 summer programs in the US for sure!

I want to ask your opinions about my summer offers this year. I am a 10th grader, got accepted to COSMOS, alternate status for Iowa SSTP and an admission to do a research at UCB ( group project , not prestigious as SSTP). Which one I should take?
