What is the best way to approch a girl and ask her out to prom?

start talking to her about a month before prom...drop hints, and then pop the question.

is a boy supposed to ask a girl or visa versa or either way??? My parents went to school in asia so no clue... very sad I know....

last year, my ex-bf did the Heath ledger thing from "10 things i hate about you" (i love that movie) and he danced around the bleachers singing at the school assembly. i completely loved it.

aloha: traditionally boys ask the girls. but you could ask a boy if you want.

traditionally, the guy asks, yes...

but i dont really think it matters either way

Well last year, when i was a junior, a girl asked a boy and i got kinda confused since i though boys were supposed to ask. btw ima boy :)

oh, aloha, hehehe, like i said boys generally ask girls. but a girl could ask YOU if she felt so inclined.

it doesnt matter who asks who.

I would seriously think about the girl's personality before deciding how you ask. If you think she's likely to say yes and would love something extravagant, go with that. If she's more practical or hates being fussed over, ask more casually. Good luck :)

What if you're poor and can't have anything extravagent?

get a job.

what if you're asian? ;p

it doesn't have to be extravagant meestasi.

I wanna ask my friend's sister to her senior prom (I'm a junior). She already knows I like her. In fact, I told my friend (her brother), who told his whole family. Apparently they have conversations in the car about me now.

I WAS pretty chill with his whole family, but now it's just awkward...

Dare me to do it?

I double-dog dare you.

Ha ha, yea let's see if she say yes. xD

Go for it :)

Whoa. Extravagant doesn't necessarily mean expensive, lol - more like something with more thought than randomly asking would take. One of my friends asked his girlfriend by shoe-polishing her car with the question in the morning before she left for school, with a trail of flowers from the door to the car. That sort of thing.

extravagent can mean creative...
any of you seen Laguna BEach?
they're ways of asking are the sweetest!

I don't really want to do all of those crazy things. I was thinking about it, but then realized it'd be a safer bet to just go up to her and ask her to the dance. But what should I say?
