How likely is it if I ask for a class, such as Psych 166ac, to be webcasted? (It has never been webcasted before). Who would I go to to ask?

Highly unlikely I presume.

Why do you say that? It is a large class…

A couple students have asked in my classes (8am algorithms, whee) and the professors have said that the rooms don’t have the proper equipment to webcast lectures. No harm in asking, worst they can do is say no.

Unless you need it for learning disability purposes (or something equally necessary), it will almost absolutely not happen (in all honesty). Even then, they’ll probably refer you to the DSP or a similar service instead. If it’s for just a general learning purpose (for studying, reviewing, etc.) they’ll probably just provide other options, but webcasting will be highly unlikely.

You can try asking your professor, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up (it’s possible that you may get lucky, but don’t count on it).

As for why? It’s Berkeley, it’s a public university, budget cuts, take your pick. There are so many large classes that if that’s your main argument for it, you’d be better off spending your effort on actually going to class and taking notes diligently.
