I’m an incoming sophomore transfer and I was assigned Parkside Apartments. From what I heard, it’s the least social apartment/housing on-campus.
Is it hard to make friends in Parkside Apartments? Especially when you’re a transfer? It seems most other housing is on the other side of campus, so I’m getting really worried since it’s more isolated. And is it close to most classes?
What have people said about Parkside Apartments? And should I request reassignment, or is this the best option I can stick with for now?
Well, you’re a transfer, so none of your housing options are going to be that social. Parkside Apartments is not so bad, there’s no A/C but the bathrooms and kitchens were just renovated and it’s right next to the Parkside dining hall. Your only other on-campus option is Webb, which I do think is much nicer (and has AC) but there’s no dining hall nearby and it isn’t social either. All the other on-campus options are for first year students only.
I guess you could try to reassign to the Village, where most sophomores will be, but it’s been full for a really long time, and it’s also apartment-style, so I doubt it will be too social.
