It might be interesting for y’all to google it.

Not a lawyer either, but I’m pretty sure that answer depends on whether or not the organization has an explicit HR social networking policy. I can say with absolute certainty most organizations without one in place will have one by year’s end.

In the absence of said policy, I’d fire first, and ask questions later.

Come here, I’m going to use this flashlight to show you where to put your smug condescension.

I did not interpret any condescension in curm’s suggestion to google the law school. He was suggesting people may wish to google it as it is sort of an eye opener and puts some of this assistant attorney guy in context. I googled it at curm’s suggestion and it helped to understand where this guy was coming from. Curm isn’t saying you should have heard of this law school before (I hadn’t either) but that anyone might find it interesting to read more about it!

Concurring with Soozie about Curmudgeon–he’s saying–wow, get a load of this!

(Mantori–Curm used to post her here a lot, but maybe not much since you’ve been here. Believe me, you’re on the same side here.)

Living in FL I am well aware of Ave Maria. I had no idea they had a Law School.

Methinks he must have failed that exam.

As far as the rest, I wonder if they teach the law about separation of church and state in the practice of law.

Everybodies got a law school.

That is part of the problem.

PS, Ave Maria is in Florida because Tom Monaghan (retired founder of Dominos Pizza) could not accomplish his vision in MICHIGAN.

[Mich. worker’s blog sparks debate on free speech - Yahoo! News](http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101001/ap_on_re_us/us_anti_gay_blog_attorney)

Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox defended an assistant’s constitutional right to wage an Internet campaign against an openly gay college student, even though he considers that employee a “bully.”

“Here in America, we have this thing called the First Amendment, which allows people to express what they think and engage in political and social speech,” Cox told Anderson Cooper on CNN’s “AC 360” on Wednesday night. “He’s clearly a bully … but is that protected under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution? Yes.”

YES?!?!?! So, the kids who are cyber bullying are free to continue waging terror on their classmates? The adults who are holding kids accountable when their bullying leads other kids to feel so distraught that they commit suicide are infringing on free speech?

I was taught that while we have rights, we also have responsibilities.

Apparently, Shirvell will face a disciplinary hearing when he returns to work…

If you are seriously offended (which I doubt) , and if we ever meet, well…you can give it your best shot. lol

And yeah. I stumbled upon the Domino’s pizza man’s connection, too. The law school’s website was an eye-opener to me. Thought other thinking people might feel the same way. No biggie, mantori (and I still doubt you were offended).

At least one blogger has questions about the initial hiring of this fella coming from the Ann Arbor campus of such a reputable school and it’s connection to Monaghan. He went as far as suggesting it could have had to do with currying favor with the pizza man himself. (And , if that wasn’t enough pizza for ya, he tells a story about our Ass AG (abb. for Assistant Attorney General ;)) buddy launching a protest against a pizza place for having a rainbow sticker on the window. The pizza conspiracy grows. )

soozie and garland, I had to google Ave Maria, too and I thought I knew just about every law school in the country. Hence the suggestion for others to do the same.

I have no idea what I said that would have been offensive to anybody. lol That’s why I think m.s wasn’t being serious. I least I hope not. Heck, I usually have to try hard to tick people off. ;)

Nice seeing y’all.

Ah-hah! I’m now 100 % certain m.s. was having just having fun on the 'net.

I wonder whose idea it was to have Shirvell to take a personal leave of absence - his or Cox? I bet Cox told Shirvell to take the personal leave because Cox can’t discipline him if he is on a personal leave.

I wouldn’t buy pizza from dominoes even back when it was just one of the local pizza joints in Ann Arbor. Even then, it was clear Monaghan was a nutcase.

No one mentionted Cox just a had failed run for governor of Michigan? I feel like we just dodged a bullet! lol

We have to remember this thing we have called the Constitution:

If it crosses the line, of course the SGA president should pursue every legal option. I’m a libertarian conservative, and I always find it odd how liberals preach tolerance…for themselves. I don’t agree with AG’s politics, but I absolutely agree with his right to voice them. The SGA president shouldn’t be afraid of a little controversy- that’s why he’s involved in politics, I assume.
