Astronomy and Geology

KU is one of my top choices and does anybody have any insight into their Astronomy and/or Geology programs? I would love to get some info from outside of their site.

I’m a petroleum geologist in Houston. The University of Kansas is well known for its work in carbonate geology, which is kind of a specialization because they are so complex. You would have lots of opportunities for field study both locally and not too far a drive away, so I would imagine your coursework would have numerous weekend field trips. They are great opportunities to get to know your professors informally and set yourself up for some good recommendations later on for grad school.
