Any idea how much it helps to get admitted at a highly selective university/lac if you are a top junior athlete (national and international level) in an individual olympic sport that's not a varsity sport? And is it ok that that's pretty much my only ec? I'm attending a very competitive school that doesn't cut me any slack for my sport, and basically, I'm competing against kids who are "home schooled."

Depends on the sport. If its something like Chess, then it probably won't help.

Being olympic level in any sport certainly is special and will get attention. Is it equal to a coach wanting you for the football team? Probably not. A multiple olympic medalist was rejected from Harvard last year.

Well, it's not chess, which isn't an olympic sport --- yet. Joey was admitted everywhere else he applied last year.
My concern is that this is basically what I'm doing 15-20hours a week year-round, in addition to doing 3 varsity sports, so it's pretty much all my ec.
