Athletes at oberlin, anyone who got recruited

I got recruited for football at oberlin and i'm curious if anybody else got recruited as well? Lets talk it up, later obies

I filled out the recruiting form for swimming on the website because I was interested and then I started talking with the coaches. So, I am a recruit, but I didn't necessarily get recruited.

I was for swimming and got accepted ED.

i got recruited for soccer and just got in rd...i dont know if i should go to oberlin though....ucsb is looking pretty good....which do you think....?..i feel bad if i dont give oberlin a second look so im going back in two weeks to check it out again...i feel really bad because the coach REALLY wants me and he's been making a HUGE effort with me...he calls EVERY week ahhh...wat should i do?

Hey,

whats going on..I can totally relate to you, except I decided on Oberlin for EDII over some other schools(middlebury, williams, wash u...) What I liked most about oberlin is how nurturing the football coaching staff seemed. It seems like the coaches at oberlin care more about the education then the sport and realize that the first priority is to the college and not the team. Haha, and yes my recruiting coach calls me every week too. Just shows you how devoted they are....UCSB and Oberlin are both good choices so its a win win. If you wanna talk im me at iluvmess11, or email me at iluvmess11@aol.com.

:) Jared

ikki, you're a swimmer too? Awesome! I got accepted RD and I'm leaning toward Oberlin over the other two acceptances, NYU and Occidental. I'm going to visit Oxy and Oberlin before deciding, but the only thing I haven't decided on was location. I like everything as far as academics and stuff better for Oberlin, I just don't know how I'd handle the location.

Yeah...Oberlin originally was not one of my top choices but I visited on a swimming recruit trip and fell in love with it. Location, too, was an initial problem for me and one of the reasons why I wasn't sure before I visited, but once I was at Oberlin I felt so comfortable and everything was perfect. And the team is great...

leahbubbles,
i would say definitely don't feel obligated to the coach just because he has been trying so hard, that is just his job. i know he is trying to rebuild the soccer program at oberlin. you shouldn't feel pressured to go there just because of recruiting efforts. oberlin is a great school tho.

the oberlin volleyball coach was like that too. she called me like every 3 days. it actually got kind of old because she was just telling me the same things over and over again and it felt like she was pressuring me to commit. eventually i just told her that i was no longer interested.
