I have a friend who swears that he was accepted into Harvard with a full scholarship this past week. He is a basketball player (6'8) and has decent potential to be really good. But would Harvard give him a full scholarship even though he has a 1750 SAT and B/B+ grades? Im happy for him, but very suspicious.....

Harvard does give "scholarships" in the sense they don't expect families that make under 60k a year to contribute. But that is financial need based. There are no athletic scholarships.

His stats seem on the very low end for Harvard, even if he was a recruited athlete... but your question related to money - they don't take into account how well you did in school. It's financial need, period.
