Athletic Scholarships in Massachussetes State.

Does anyone know the schools in boston area that offer full ride athletic scholarships. I run TRACK and crosscountry and i am quite good in my events so I plan to apply NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY or any schools in MA. Any ideas?

I don't know about Mass., but I believe you can find all kinds of info about athletic scholarships at particular schools on the NCAA website. Also, you might try asking your coach, as a first step.

thanks i appreciate the info.

hmm ... I'd suggest going to <a href="http://www.ncaa.org%5B/url%5D">www.ncaa.org</a> to find out which schools are even in the hunt ... <a href="http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLN4j3CQXJgFjGpvqRqCKOcAFfj_zcVH1v_QD9gtzQiHJHRUUAc0tpTA!!/delta/base64xml/L3dJdyEvUUd3QndNQSEvNElVRS82XzBfTFU!?CONTENT_URL=http://www2.ncaa.org/portal/sports/fall/cross_country/mens/%5B/url%5D">http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLN4j3CQXJgFjGpvqRqCKOcAFfj_zcVH1v_QD9gtzQiHJHRUUAc0tpTA!!/delta/base64xml/L3dJdyEvUUd3QndNQSEvNElVRS82XzBfTFU!?CONTENT_URL=http://www2.ncaa.org/portal/sports/fall/cross_country/mens/</a></p>

FYI - a school may be DI but not offer scholarships (the Ivies) or not offer the full compliment the NCAA allows. Even then there are not a lot of scholarships for cross-country and track ... and they need to be split across 4 years of kids and across all events (distance, mid-distance, sprints, hurdles, wieghts, jumping, etc) ... the bottom line even schools offering full compliments of track and cross country scholarships may only offer 1-2-3 scholarships per year to distance runners. A 4:20 mile or better will probably get you a lot of recruiting attention ... however to get scholarship money you'll probable need to be state champ level.

Are you instate for MA? Also, please read the above post carefully. Apply to a range of schools, including some that you can afford without athletic scholarships. Pay careful attention to a broad list of schools so you do not end up posting like many others on these boards about great schools you got into but cannot afford to attend.

"Quite good in my events." I'm not sure what that means. What year are you in high school? Have you received any recruiting interest so far? If so, from whom? It seems to me that the answers to those questions would determine whether pursuit of a DI scholarship is even plausible

You may know this already, but an easy way to determine how competitive you are on a national level, is to go to the dyestat.com website and use their calculator, and look at the rankings and elite cut-off times.
