Athletics and Time Management

Hey there everyone,

So I am a sophomore who takes a lot of weighted/AP classes and is a mild procrastinator. I was considering trying out for badminton this year but the time commitment is pretty big (practices 6 days a week, getting home at 9pm at latest and all that jazz). Should I do it? I'm also in SciOly, WYSE, BPA, volunteering, etc.

Another concern is the fact that AP exams are just 3 months away (less than) and I have so much studying to do. >.<

If I do do it this year, I'm not sure I"ll continue, do colleges care about sports if you didn't participate all 4 years?

Honestly, no, don’t do it. It sounds like you already got a lot going on and enough extra-curricular for college.

I play sports all 3 school season and it’s absolutely time-killing and makes you tired and not want to do work when you get home.

Unless you really love badminton and have a passion for playing it, then I wouldn’t recommend joining the team. Otherwise it’s not worth it.

Playing badminton for one season will help at a very minimal level, and compared to all the hours you’ll get back for not playing badminton, it’s definetly not worth it!
