Atlanta a good place for "hanging out"/"chiling"?

I'll be going to emory next yr and I read that Atlanta's an awesome city with a lotta stuff to do. Is it really a good place for hanging out and chilling?

Whats your definition of hanging out and chilling?

Lots of selection of restaurants and bars, just a buzzing, metropolis atmosphere and good nightlife.

The ATL is wonderful.

And, think of exploring some of the older cities if you are able to.

Good luck over in the ATL.

Yeah the ATL has a great nightlife if you're into clubbing. You'll probably see some rappers and even football players (alot of them live in the ATL in the offseason). Have fun!

Hanging out and chilling? If that's all you want to do, it won't matter what city you are in. You can do that anywhere and make a good time out of it.

Ugh, I hate Atlanta with the passion of 1000 suns. I grew up close by and it's by far the worst city I've been to. And I've been to Pittsburgh and Newark.

Maybe you'll like it, but personally I can't stand cities known by their airport initials due to it's prominence in rap songs. I also can't stand cities almost devoid of convenient public transportation.

where TIP be chillin at??
come and ride with a G, all through the ATL come and ride with a G

I know that it's got some of the greatest strip clubs in the country.

Not sure if that helps!

It is "ok". I've been to Atlanta about ten times and have family that lives there(including one cousin who just graduated from Emory).

There's some good things, and it's not that bad to be in for a visit or even a month or so, but it gets pretty repetitive. There are good restaraunts and clubs, a kind of small urban area(downtown ATL/midtown doesn't really have that much going on), and a lot of upscale shopping malls(in Buckhead mainly).

If you like slightly more urban life than straight up suburbia, Atlanta is a good place to be.
