Obviously, everyone wants to go to there, but for those who currently attend it, what is going to Wharton like? Is it really supercompetitive and pre-professional like most sources say it is, and you won't be able to relax or hang out much if you want to have a chance to succeed there?

I'm surrounded by whartonites relaxing and hanging out. kind of like i'm surrounded by college kids relaxing and hanging out. kind of like i'm surrounded by SEAS kids relaxing and--oh wait. Scratch that last one.

I think for SAS and Wharton courses, activity generally comes in large bursts. There will be a weeks-long lull followed by mayhem.

This may be a reflection of my poor project planning than anything else..

For example, MGMT-234 consisted of a paper one month into it, then nothing for a loooong time, then a group project, then a final paper shortly thereafter.

Would someone in Wharton who's doing varsity athletics have anytime at all for a social life?

Yes, of course. But it is up to the individual and his/her time management and which varsity sports you have in mind. Some sports have a longer season and lengthy practices and some not. Penn lures many recruited athletes by admitting them to Wharton and many do just fine.

Thanks cbreeze, that's reassuring!
