I have several questions about the general atmosphere of this school.

Does this school have a community feeling? Or is it very spread out, w/o a central campus (i.e. NYU, which has buildings all around, and there is no real sense of COMMUNITY among the college students)?

Do they have a lot of school spirit? Rah rah football, bball, etc.?

Are there many Asian people? When I say Asian, I mean Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc., not Indian.

Are the students more collaborative or highly competitive with each other?

What kind of political preferences do they have - is the student body liberal leaning, conservative leaning, or moderate leaning?

For more in-depth answers...
- There's definitely a central campus that's not big at all (maybe 3 blocks down and two blocks over) and I can usually walk along the campus and recognize people I know pretty often
- Yeah theres definitely school spirit. Not so much for football though. I mean, I went to the opening football game last week which was kinda boring since I probably didnt have enough alcohol in me and there were like 7000 people there for an 80000 person stadium. But basketball is supposed to be insane. Everyone goes and its really intense.
-Yeah theres a ton of Asians. Its ridiculous...probably more than any school on the east coast.
-Wharton students (and maybe engineering?) are competitive. The rest are totally fine.
-Yeah I guess its mostly liberal (Penn Democrats is one of the biggest org on campus) but theres a lot of conservatives in Wharton that tend to balance it out

To expand on the football games, one of the primary reason there were only 8000+ people at the games was that Duquesne hardley brought anybody, and thus the Penn side was full and rocking, the upper deck even had a good amount of people. However, Duquesne only brought a few hundred people at the most. When Villanova comes in here on this Saturday, or Princeton, there should definitely be more visitors and thus a better atmosphere. Not to say the Duquesne game was bad, it was a lot of fun, and there definitely school spirit, the students were quite engaged in the first three quarters of the game (football has four quarters by the way... admittedly it was a blowout, but leaving after the third is an unfortunate trend). The toast, Coach Lake, the helmet cart, Hang Jeff Davis, the Exclaimation Point cheer, R&B, Mask and Wig chanting...

Also Re: football attendance. Penn has ~9500 undergrad. Franklin Field holds 55,000 people... Surprise, it's not full every weekend. duh
