Hi everybody. I’m new here so please forgive me if I am repeating a topic.
I’m applying for transfer this fall of 2018 to UCLA and UCI, with LA as my main priority. However, I have heard that UCLA highly recommends psych majors to complete ALL prerequisites in the Fall of when you will be applying. Unfortunately, I am not going to be done with all of them, as I have one more requirement to complete in the following Spring of 2019 semester: Chemistry. Will this hurt my chances significantly? Has anyone in an impacted major, such as Psych, submitted their application with 1-2 prerequisites remaining?
I’m in the TAP program—first year to be exact. I will be scheduled to complete Biology this summer and Statistics this Fall. After that, Chemistry is all that is left, which again, is scheduled for next Spring.
GPA: 3.94
Extracurriculars: Currently being built.
TAP/IGETC: 75% completed
I can only go by what someone said up here re UCLA psych last year. They were rejected and when they called to ask why they were told they had two requirements to finish. If they only had one req left they likely would have been accepted.
I know I responded on my thread but I second what @Ohm888 said, I saw the same thing, might even be the same girl we’re talking about. It seems like there’s definitely a random element when missing 1-2 prereqs for UCLA’s impacted majors. Some people get in, some people get rejected without any real consistent pattern (other than what classes you’re missing). One certainly looks better than two tho. I saw a couple get waitlisted for 1-2 prereqs for the psych major as well.
