Unfortunately, I was one of many MIT reject this year. I'll be heading to Northeastern this fall, but I really still want to go to MIT. This is nothing against Northeastern, I will give it a try, and if I love it, I'll stay, but MIT is what I've wanted all along.

I think my application just wasn't competitive enough. I really think I'm a perfect fit for MIT, but my grades/scores were just not as strong as everyone else's. So this time around I'm going to ace my classes for sure. But I understand this is not enough, considering the insane transfer acceptance rate. I want to know what I can do to really stand out in my application.

Just to give you all some background information, I'm most likely going to major in physics and biology at Northeastern, but I would like to major in courses 8+9 at MIT. As of right now, I have a 4.0UW/4.4W, 2060 SAT (720M 660CR 680W), 32 ACT (34M 34E 27R 33S), and (most likely) 6 5s, 3 4s, and a 3 on AP exams. I play 4 instruments and I am involved in a lot of film/music activities that I plan to continue in college. I definitely want to get involved in research as soon as I can. This might be a bit of a stretch, but maybe it's possible for me to do research at MIT?

First semester I'll be taking Calc 3, Thermo and Statistical Physics, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Chemistry 2, and a non-science/math class that I'm not entirely sure about yet.

I'm looking for anything I can do that will make me stand out. Something that will separate me from everyone else. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.
