I know it's still an early time for you guys to decide upon a final college, I was wondering if anyone here is planning to attend NYU next year. NYU isn't my top choice, but there's high chances that I'll end up in CAS. Anyone else planning to attend?

i'm planning to attend...i'm in gsp tho

I'm not sure yet. I haven't gotten my financial aid from NYU yet, but if it can beat the 32k grant money Boston U is offering, then sure.

i'm not going-I refuse to be over $150,000 in debt when i graduate! :p

I wish they had asked for the CSS profile. =/

I'm going but I may transfer out after a year, not that I don't love nyu, it's just I love another school more. Although I may end up loving nyu so much I stay all 4 years.

my safety schools (boston u, u.mass amherst, northeastern) all are giving me a lot more money, but I don't want to attend those schools. When I visited boston u, I literally met 3 kids who said they only went to b.u because nyu rejected them. how sad, it made me like b.u less

i think i'm attending as well!!

im attending Stern for sure...unless Columbia decides to take me of their waitlist X__x

I got waitlisted at Columbia too. =/

yep probably very excited!

nickel, did you find out about USC yet? I thought it was your first choice. good luck with columbia

I'm in the same boat as Molly and Nickel, except I have decided to go to NYU. BU, Northeastern, and Lehigh gave me a lot of money, and NYU gave me relatively nothing compared to what they offered, but I still want to attend due to the whole diverse city atmosphere.

Haha, I'm just like Molly... I'd like to transfer out, but then again, it's simply because it's so expensive. But then again, it's New York!

Hey Molly, it's the same here. i'll see once i get there, since NYU was not my top choice... I might transfer to another school after a year. Although it's in New York City, one thing that bothers me is that non-campus-y atmosphere.

^^If I remember correctly, NYU is right next to Washington Park which kind of makes up for the lack of green scenery and gives it a bit of that campus feel.

wow a lot of potential transfers.
the thing is, I really like nyu and am excited to attend next year.
I just like another school more and so If I do really well at nyu I will probably try to transfer out after a year. That way, I'll get to enjoy a year in the city and then (hopefully) three years in rural Itaca.

I'm not too concerned about missing trees because I might be commuting next year, from my little suburban town in LI, so I'll see plenty of trees.

Washington Square Park is currently half-closed because the city wanted to move the fountain so that it was in line with the arch. And because they want to make more green space, but it'll probably be inaccessible, like the green space in Union Square. The lack of campus, though, really isn't that bad, at least for me...

If you're willing to travel for about fifteen minutes, Central Park has large plots of accessible green space. My friends and I go there whenever we miss grass too much.

"My friends and I go there whenever we miss grass too much."

hope your talkin about that fuzzy green stuff that shoots out of the ground...haha sorry I just had to say that :)

Anyway there's nothing wrong with the freakin fountain. It's a waste of money, IMO. I would like to see more 'green space' though.
