I am a freshmen finishing second semester in a 4 year university. Can I take a break from this university(like gap year) and go to CC? I want to go to start with a clean slate in CC and start from freshmen. I want transfer CC to UCB or UCLA or other UC’s schools. If I mess up in CC then my back up plan is to go back to my university. However, if I am successful in this, I do not want to go back to my 4 year university. Is this possible?
You have to report any other colleges you attend when applying p. You can’t start over
what happens if I don’t report any?
They find out you lied and kick you out. And then you have to report THAT.
what happens if they don’t find out?
cuz I know 5 people who cheated on the SAT and got into the ivy leagues. I told the SAT administration but they didn’t do anything. They are all doing well in the ivy leagues.
Do you really want to go about life lying and cheating through it? Be honest, they will likely find out. It’s a huge deal, and it will ruin you.
They will find out. There is a national student clearinghouse that keeps records of attendance.
If you have had any federal financial aid, that will also leave a trail.
It sounds as if you’ve had a bad first year and are trying to hedge your bets.
If I were you, I would go ahead and withdraw from your current school with the knowledge that you’re likely going to do well as a CC, since you’re now highly motivated to transfer to a UC.
Then do as well as you can at the CC.
Be sure to meet with a Transfer counselor at the CC prior to registering, to be sure that you’re taking the correct classes to meet the UC requirements. If you do well at the required classes, you will be a decent candidate for transfer.
Many other students have been where you are.
I say take a risk with confidence in your abilities and goals of transferring to a UC.
