I'm technically still a freshman, I've only got one semester under my belt at CU Boulder but it was a horrible semester, personally and academically. I was a stellar student-athlete in high school and I could write on my behalf as well as get others to write for me, I'm just wondering if this is a possibility...I want to attend a community college for a semester or two to bolster my GPA and then transfer back into a 4-year institution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think so, I’m pretty sure you can if you wait 5 years or so.

Before you decide you’re going to do this, please re-examine WHY it was such a bad term for you at CU Boulder, so you can do better going forward. I think if you do very well in a CC for a few terms, you would have better transfer options. The advisors and counselors at your U & CC should be able to provide some guidance.

Why not stay at CU, cut down the number of credits (12 probably to be full time. Maybe sign up for 15, and drop a class you like the least) Give yourself an easy schedule. Then grow-up and deal.

Your college record stays with you, but yes, you can transfer to a CC and then back to a 4 yr.
