My application to Michigan was complete 12/7/06. I feel as though I was a decently qualified applicant, yet more than two months later, I have still not received a decision. I'm out of state, so I know that factors into the decision. How are most of the other applicants from december faring? I know there was a brief break in the admissions office during the affirmative action fiasco, but I've read posts by students who applied in December (and even January) who have already received their decisions. I'm nervous, and I fear the delay must mean deferral.

It could be just be taking a long time. A lot of the people who got it after a month are very highly qualified, I think that that helps a bit. For all you know, you could be hearing on Friday.

Mine was complete 12/8 and I was accepted last Friday. Don't jump to conclusions and say you think you'll get deferred- that is what I did. You have to hope for the best. In my opinion, you'll get the decision this Friday. If not then, then you'll get it soon.

thanks ungst and idolfan189. I hope I receive a decision soon, but I'm thinking I might have applied too late.

i'm in a similar situation. completed on 12/11 and still no decision. two of my friends though were accepted recently and they applied later than me, although they were both very qualified.

i applied OOS and my application was complete January 16th and I got accepted Feb 9th.

Going into engineering, dont know how mine got looked over so quickly though as im assuming a lot of people apply for engineering at UMich

i wouldnt worry, they said average time is 12-14 weeks to hand out a decision, some just randomly get pulled out of the pile im sure

...I know a girl from my school who applied in september and didn't hear til march!

my app complete jan 31 and response by feb 9, so I think its pretty arbitrary how the timing goes.

My app was complete 13th Jan. Still no response..... Oh and I'm international.

You guys could be transfer students :-p My app was completed on Nov 1 and no decision yet.

same...app was completed in nov but no decision yet

no im not a transfer student...currently a senior going into chem. engineering

mine was complete 12/6 and I was accepted mid january? I'd just say to be patient, you'll find out soon enough! =]

i sent mine in on November 12th, but my SAT scores didn't get sent (stupid me) til December 6th, so that's when they started looking at it. I got my acceptance 2 weeks ago, but it was entirely random and arbitrary, so don't lose hope in terms of hearing from them soon! Seriuosly.. you will hear from them really soon, I'm sure.

A friend of mine applied in September and she didn't get in until December (after a two-day deferral) and another one applied in October and she didn't get in until December either (ALSO after a two-day deferral), whereas I got in after less than a month, I know someone that got in in around the same time, and I know people that have been waiting even longer. It all depends, don't lose hope and jump to conclusions for just this, and try not to think about it.

Thanks for all of the optimistic outlooks guys! I was feeling pretty down about the whole Michigan thing, but now I feel a lot better. I just wish they had a standard procedure or something so that kids like me wouldn't have to wait so long to find out whether or not they had been admitted. It's frustrating because I did not apply ED anywhere, and accepted the fact that I wouldn't hear from all of the schools I applied to until April, all of the schools that is except Michigan. I figured I'd apply to Michigan in early December, and have a decision a month or two later. Being accepted to Michigan would be such a huge relief. I wouldn't mind if all of my decisions in April came back as rejections as long as I got into Michigan.

i have a friend who applied early november, very well qualified, has yet to hear back as well.

I applied in...October!
Then again, they said my app was complete December 12, when it was really complete October 26. But, I got in last Friday! I thought for sure I was going to get rejected. Just be patient.

what time fridays do decisions/emails go out?? is it at 12 AM (as in tonight)...randomly in the middle of the day, 5-6 PM....any info would help....THANKS!!
--applied 11/30, app complete 12/19, still awaiting decision

Decisions don't always come out on friday. Also, there is no specific time they are released, all you can do is keep checking constantly

I got my decision last Friday while I was in school. I checked at around 1:30 and there my acceptance was! So exciting!
