<attention grabbing title>

Hey there. I'm a white male senior at a rural public school. I was hoping for some input as to whether or not I'm being realistic with my school choices.
Yale REA
Brown
Princeton
Harvard
Cornell
UPenn
Dartmouth
Columbia
UChicago
Stanford
Northwestern

Staaaats
GPA: 3.99 UW (A- in woodshop freshman year because we had to take an elective, lol)
Rank: 2/142
ACT: Comp: 36 E: 35 M: 35 R: 36 S: 36
SATII: USH: 800 and will be taking others in december, not sending to Yale.
AP's: Chem 5 Bio 5 USH 5 (these are all the ap's my school has apart from English lit, which I'm currently in)
I have taken the most rigorous classes available (although thats not saying much here)

EC's- as you will see, my school doesn't have a ton of clubs and such because of it's small size/the fact that no one cares, and this is one of my main concerns
Chess Team- captain (jr/sr years) and first board since freshman year, led team to an ICCA State championship sophomore year and have won a few tournaments
Quiz Bowl- found out about it sophomore year and fell in love. Leading scorer and captain since then and was an all sectional pick jr year
WYSE- Third in chemistry and biology at sectionals jr year (which was the first year we are allowed to compete)
Math Team- qualified for state freshman year, wasn't able to attend qualifying tourney soph/jr years because of scheduling conflicts but placed highly in tournaments every year
Baseball- starter all through high school, I'm alright but definitely won't get recruited

Work/Volunteering
Peer tutor all through high school
A lot of time volunteering to pick up garbage in ditches
Work a part time job washing dishes at a restaurant
Another job refereeing local flag football games

Other
I wrote a pretty solid essay for the common app
My two recs will be very good since I'm close with both teachers

So what do you think? I know I've got the scores but I'm worried that my limited options for EC's and class rigor could hurt my chances.

I think you’re great! Don’t worry! :)

Scores seem good (though that woodshop class might make it or break it for you xD).
EC’s might be a bit weak but colleges go see what school you go to so that might help out.
Work/Volunteer is alright having a job will show colleges that you’re responsible .

Just my 2 cent. I don’t really see anything that gives off a wow factor for these ivys but hey you never know.

I would say that your choices are pretty much on-target.

Good job on the title :stuck_out_tongue:
Mind chancing me?

Do you have a safety, or otherwise admitted elsewhere? You just can’t have a “reach-for-anyone” as a safety. That said, for UChicago, pay attention to your essays.

Perhaps it goes without saying, but I will not be pursuing a career in carpentry.

@Catria I’m in at a few already, no worries, and I recognize that none of these are by any means safe bets.

Shameless bump

“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

For some reason this seemed like a really appropriate final bump quote.

Y’know, I feel like the A- in woodshop makes you interesting. If it makes 'em laugh, you’re golden.
