OK so while we’re passing the time, eagerly awaiting our decisions, how about some stats from the international students who’ve been accepted already. Just for fun…

Im actually pretty disappointed that I got into what seems to be a program for 2nd class applicants.

Wash Mentorship Program is a great program if you consider it a internship/transition to being a full time student. It does add cost and time but there is significant upside. Don’t dismiss it without fully evaluating it.

What is the University college program?

@pushydad I understand and appreciate the fact that the Mentorship Program is actually pretty prestigious and has a bunch of positive factors to it. I’m glad I was invited into it and I’ll probably end up attending it. I’m not disappointed about that. I’m disappointed because I felt that being accepted to the spring semester meant that I barely made the cut, which wasn’t really what I expected.

If you go to the American University Portal (their actual AU portal not the prospective student portal) you will be able to see whether you have been admitted or not without having to wait for snail mail!!! (finding this out, made my night!)

Here is the link: [myAU.american.edu Web Portal | American University](http://www.american.edu/oit/software/Portal.cfm)

I am from South Florida & American is my #1 school. However, I am somewhat nervous… my Financial Aide Award (that appears on the online portal) does not list any merit aide… It only lists the AU need-based grant, work study, Pell Grant, and Loans… I am not sure if I will receive the merit aide in a separate letter? I applied Test Optional… but I am second in my class and have taken 7 AP classes and 8 Dual Enrollment. I feel that I should receive at least SOME money in merit… If someone is on the same circumstance as me, please let me know! I am so nervous I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to AU but w. out the Merit Aide I won’t be able to :(

How can you see whether you have been admitted from that logon page? When I try the same user name and password as on the prospective student portal, nothing happens. Should the same user name and p/w work if you are accepted?

No its a different one! You need to set it up using your email and they will give you a sign in and password!

I was able to do it too! Awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and a little Champion’s of Excellence MUN Scholarship! Hooray!!!

how did you create an account without your 7 digit ID???

It was just the same as my AU ID number that I’ve had throughout the admissions process.

where in the application process were you given the id?

Ugh, so the merit aide does appear on the portal this means, Goodbye D.C for me! @dmdiscala It gives it under the financial tab of the portal.

I got in as well!!! Where did you find your scholarship info?

Sorry - where in the portal does it give your status?

Weird… I try to create an account and I get this error:

Your problem is one of the following:

The AU ID you have submitted (*******) cannot be authenticated. Please recheck your Admissions Letter and try again. If you have submitted the Colleague ID as printed on the letter, please contact the Help Desk for further assistance.

You have mis-typed your birthdate, Social Security number, or telephone information. Please return to the Account Creation Form and try again.

I know I didn’t mistype anything so…

:(

I was able to sign in but I don’t see anything under financial aid. Where is that listed?

Accepted! Presidential 2140 SAT
@iamMarc it would not let me in at first.
I had to create a new password. Good Luck
