AU Undergrad - CommonApp without essay?

<p>Hey everyone,
So I added American University to my CommonApp profile, only to be surprised by the lack of a supplement for the school. I went over the paper application (<a href=“http://admissions.american.edu/fileLibrary/admissions_application_2009.pdf[/url]”>http://admissions.american.edu/fileLibrary/admissions_application_2009.pdf</a>) and on page 9 there is listed an essay prompt and a statement of interest in the university that are required to be completed. </p>

<p>How come they are not present on the Common App? If I am applying through the Common App, should I still complete the prompts and mail them in along with my transcript, etc.? Or should I simply submit my Common App without any additional essays?</p>

<p>Has anyone done this already? I’d really appreciate any insight.</p>

<p>i applied ED to AU through Common app
and i didnt do the essay prompt or statement of interest
and i got accepted</p>

<p>just make sure to make your common app essays are good and show them who you really are
and you should be fine</p>
