AU vs GW

AU vs GW. Which do you think is better and why?

D was admitted to the honors college at GW and it certainly looked attractive. I think these two colleges are quite similar in many ways

Two things that immediately stand out: your program and what campus environment you want to be in.

If you’re NOT in the field of social sciences or business (I mention these because they’re likely the most popular ones), I would easily put my money on GW. GW’s majors and academic programs are much more expansive because they have programs in engineering, architecture, pre-med (and a hospital), etc, while AU does not. If you are talking social sciences or business, both are quite similar in rankings and academic rigor.

Of course, one huge difference between the two schools is that AU has a traditional college campus up in NW DC while GW is located in urban downtown DC and doesn’t have a traditional campus. I think all incoming college students should take this into account and, if you have the chance, you should visit both schools sometime this summer.
