Auburn here she comes!

The final decision has been made. D will be attending in the fall! She looked up and down the east coast, big, medium, small - ended up applying to 10 schools. After seeing the last contender yesterday she has decided Auburn is the place. She still hasn’t heard from 2 of them, Clemson and USC, but she has said even if she gets in there she still prefers Auburn. She feels like she fits there. Her deposit was made by in October.

Any words of advice? Her first choice dorm is The Quad. Things she should be sure to do, see, bring, avoid?

Congrats! My daughter will also be attending in the fall. She also applied to 10 schools and looked at Clemson but did not apply. She liked it but decided it was too far away from anything else.

Between the 3 my d thought USC was too city, Clemson was too much in the middle of nowhere, but Auburn seemed just right. We just bought out the campus bookstore of their car decals, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. She also joined the FB page and did the roommate search. Now she can relax, get excited and just enjoy the rest of senior year.

Welcome! My son is a freshman this year and absolutely loves Auburn. He also lives in the Quad and loves it - it s in the middle of everything so nothing is too far away (except the band practice field, ughhh!). He got a new bike for Christmas and has been riding that all over campus this semester - not needed but he really likes it. Not sure if they gals ride bikes, but a lot of they guys do. This is the friendliest school I have ever had the pleasure to visit and everyone is happy! (I know I’m exaggerating but after visiting some of the other schools - it sure feels this way). Congrats on a great decision and hope you have smooth sailing to graduation!

Congrats on selecting Auburn! My son also brought a bike and loves loves zooming around on campus to class . He does have a car and finds it helpful on the weekends - but perhaps this is more for guys than girls. He seems to be giving a lot of rides to friends. DS lived in the Village and liked having his own space but he had many friends in the Quad who were very happy. My advice is to get involved early - Greek or not, there is much to choose from. It takes a little while to find your niche but there is so much to do, there is something for everyone. Best of luck and War Eagle!

Oh and for Mom and Dad, Forbes names Auburn one of the top 25 places to retire in the United States for 2014. Not that you’re old enough to retire or anything!

When we visited we stayed at the Marriott in Opelekia on this beautiful golf course. It’s where I’ll stay now and play! It’s not my age holding me back from retiring!
