Auburn may be after Kirby Smart. Kirby, don't go!

<p>Auburn’s coaching search is likely down to these candidates: FSU’s Jimbo Fisher, Arkansas State’s Gus Malzahn, Louisville’s Charlie Strong, TCU’s Gary Patterson, Bama’s Kirby Smart, Boise’s Chris Petersen and Bobby Petrino. There’s a report that says Auburn will interview Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart.</p>

<p>Ugh! Bama needs to offer Kirby as much as necessary to keep him.</p>

<p>I can guarantee you that a couple of the guys on that list want nothing to do with the dumpster fire that is the Auburn football program.</p>

<p>Petrino would take it in a heartbeat. And that scares me.</p>

<p>Hopefully, Kirby has the same feelings.</p>

<p>Auburn: keep your paws off Kirby…he’s our Coach in Waiting. (If Bama has to double his salary to keep him, it should!)</p>

<p>Maybe the interview had to happen to push Bama to double his salary. His salary does need to be doubled. Right now, he’s at about a million…he’s worth at least $2M, if not more.</p>

<p>those are some of the biggest names. i don’t think Peterson or Patterson would leave their situations. the fact right now is that Auburn is no longer that attractive of a job, having to come in to the same division as Alabama and LSU and coach at a school that will have no second thoughts giving you the can.</p>

<p>Kirby Smart definitely said no. there’s no chance Auburn would choose Malzahn over him.</p>
