It turns out Les Miles was never offered...

Yesterday, I spoke to a friend who works in a senior position at Michigan and she told me that Les Miles was crossed out as a viable candidate when he recruited Zack Mettenberger (kick off the University of Georgia football team when he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery of a woman) out of JUCO in early December. As such, he was not even considered. She was venting because LSU and SEC administatos were hinting at how Michigan had offered Les Miles a $5 million contract.

Harbaugh and Hoke were the only two coaches Michigan was considering.

I personally like Miles, but I can see how Michigan would want to avoid such a coach.

It might just as well. Miles has been contaminated by the SEC. Would you want a coach like that to represent the University of Michigan? Would Bo or Lloyd Carr ever consider taking athletes like Mettenberger?

" As such, he was not even considered. She was venting because LSU and SEC administatos were hinting at how Michigan had offered Les Miles a $5 million contract."

This is what I found so infuriating. It seems all of the media bought it hook, line, and sinker and made it look like Michigan was settling for it’s third choice in coaches.
