Auditing a class does it hurt chances?

Alright, so I am attending a community college. I was homeschooled. I am hoping to transfer to a good school and hopefully attend medical school. I need to take college Algebra, but math is my weakest subject. I tested out of intermediate math, but took it anyways and got a B. I could probably pull a B in college algebra with a lot of work. I thought I might do better if I audited the college algebra class first. Would it look bad if I audited the class first? Would that hurt my chances of getting into a good school? I'm not talking Harvard or anything. I'm thinking University of Delaware, Syracuse or Rice( total reach). I have a 3.54 GPA right now with 41 credits. I am trying to raise it as much as posible before I transfer in about a year or so. So I guess my question is simply does auditing a class look bad when you are trying to transfer to a different school? Thanks for the input.
