Alright I got Ds both semesters freshman year in my college algebra class. My school doesn't let you re-take a class and replace the grade if you didn't fail (have to re-check that) but I was thinking of retaking it at a college or at the after school classes that my school offers to show colleges that I really can do it lol (GC will obv. mention it in app next year). Should I do it or am I wasting my time? I Have a huge upward trend in grades if that helps (Frosh:2.5/2.8, Soph:3.7/3.7, Junior so far: 4.3). Also, I have gotten only Bs and As in math since and I am getting only As this year (all college level math). Overall, I have gotten all As and Bs in other subjects too after freshman year except 1 C last year in honors chem. So should I do it or not?

retaking it would be a great idea, especially if you plan to apply to small colleges. It shows that you have genuine academic curiosity and you aren't just a grade grubber.

thanks a lot i think i am going to take it

ferrisbueller was being ironic/sarcastic.
There is really no point in re-taking that class, unless you really haven't grasped the basic algebra concepts which is giving you trouble now in more advanced classes, but you don't sound like that.
