I recently got permission from a professor at the school to which I would like to transfer to audit a class (for no credits of course) related to my major. It is a very good school, so I am trying to get any advantage I can. My question is, does this give me any sort of advantage at all, or is it considered at all, when I mention this in my transfer application to said school?
Thanks!
Do the audit because you want to learn the material, not because you think it will help you get into that college/university.
Are you formally registered with the college/university for this audit, or is is a private arrangement with the professor? Some places don’t permit informal audits. So clarify your situation. It doesn’t have anything to do with you as a person, but rather with insurance liability and campus safety clearances.
I asked the professor and she said she is fine with it, so it is totally informal. I will still do the audit to learn the material, but I just would like to know if there is an advantage to it in terms of the application that comes with it.
any other feedback is much appreciated!
