seasidegardener - Hmm, well, I received an email for my acceptance into the school academically, and I know it's just for the college (not theatre) since I received it wayyy before my audition. My email said "I invite you to view a very special message regarding your admission decision at Marymount Manhattan College! A letter and information is on the way to you as well. Click on the Griffin Logo below to learn of your official decision." Then attached was a video saying I was accepted and whatnot. Was yours anything like that? I imagine if it was an email for theatre they would say from the theatre department or something...

That is exactly what my daughter received. Thanks for the information. We were pretty sure that it was an admittance to the school only but wanted a clarification if we could before tomorrow. Thanks Granuaile.

Glad I could help! :)
I know if I had received if after my audition I would have been wondering too. I do wonder, though, if they send out emails for theatre decisions as well (and maybe so if EnjoyTheAdventur's daughter's letter was different).

I guess we're just going to have to wait out a little longer...I know I'm going crazy! I've been all over the internet just looking up as much info about MMC as possible. I felt really good about this audition - but with over 800 applicants - who knows?

An admittance to the college academically was the answer. Still have to wait a bit longer for the big decision.
All the best to everyone anxiously waiting.

Ours was an academically accepted notification only. So our fingers are still crossed. Good Luck to All....this is going to be a long month of waiting.

Congrats on everyone that has auditioned so far at MMC! I am a current student there, BA Theatre Performance major and I just LOVE the program! I work with a lot of the MT kids because we have the same Acting classes, so if anyone has any questions don't be scared to PM me!

Just so you guys all know, unless they've changed it since last year, the Theatre acceptance or rejection will arrive in simple letter. You won't get a huge packet like at other schools, so if you get a letter in the mail, don't panic until you actually read it. The acceptance letter will state congratulate you on your acceptance to the Theatre department and within the body of the letter it will be in bold print what major/concentration you got accepted to.

I wish everyone luck on their coming auditions and to those waiting on their acceptances!

Hi,
I tried out for MMC on January 24th for both BFA in acting and BA in theatre preformance. I recieved my accpetance to the school academically the day before my audition. I was just wondering when are we going to hear about the theatre audition descisons? and has anyone heard about the theatre des. yet?
thanks!

I thought they said it would be on or about March 1 for kids that auditioned on that date if I remember correctly.

Really?? I auditioned then too - I thought they just told us mid Feb - March. I was looking up to see when students heard last year, and it seemed to be Feb 20th.

I rec'd an email on 2/11 from one of the admissions counselors and he wrote

"I was told that over the next week's decisions will be mailed out to students."

I am not sure if this means over next week or over the next couple of weeks they will mail out decisions.

Either way I am thinking we should hear something by month end.

Good Luck to All of You/Us

I hope you are all right. I thought I remembered him saying around March 1 for the date my d. auditioned and then they would send kids who auditioned after that by April 1. I like your date better, so let's keep our fingers crossed that you are right. Best of luck to all of you.

Could anyone who has previously auditioned tell me roughly how long it took with the info session, the warmup, the auditioning, and the dance? I only ask because I'm trying to schedule a bus ride to and from the audition : )

We were there most of the day. If I remember correctly we got there around 11:30 and didn't leave until almost 6:00.
