Is anyone going to be at the MMC auditions in Atlanta this Sunday? Has anyone already had their auditions? If so, how was the process?

I'll be there. Did you get your audition packet? It explains the entire process. The only thing that's kind of weird is that we all audition infront of each other.

Yeah, I got it. It is weird. We even interview with everyone else according to the packet. This makes me kind of nervous.

A guy I talked to at my CMU audition said there wasn't even an interview. Yeah that is kind of nerve racking but whatev.

The packet said that there would be a group interview. Not a lot of room to show them what a great person you are. lol. It should be a different experience if nothing else.

Yeah (lol). I'll see yeah there!

I'll be there on Sunday! There isn't a dance component, is there? I just need to know if I should bring dance attire or not.

No, there isn't a dance component. Everything you need to know is in that packet they sent you. See you there as well!

there wasn't an interview (group or individual) at my audition...so you probably don't have to worry about that part ;)

Yeah that's what someone told me at my CMU audition. How long ago did you audition? Have you heard anything yet?

I audititioned Jan 27 heard last week, I'm on the "alternate" list whatever that means. gr.

Mackie45. Noccalaura28. How did your audition go? Did you audition for both the BFA or BA and MT Minor? Who were you at the audition (lol). Also Noccalaura28 is that the NOCCA school in New Orleans?

My audition went ok, I think (for anyone who was there... I did the A My Name is Alice monologue and sang "Somewhere That's Green" and "Can't Say No). My monologue didn't go as well as I'd hoped. I mean, I didn't totally screw it up or anything, I was just nervous and rushed it. But by the time the songs came around I was hardly nervous at all. I really liked this audition process more than most, to say the least, haha.

I auditioned for just the BA with the MT minor. And yes, NOCCA is the school in New Orleans!

Anyway, congrats to everyone who auditioned today, I thought everyone did a really good job!

Hey noccalaura28 you sat right next to me! I was to the right of you. I was the last person to do perform a monologue (The Shadow Box) and the last person to sing ("All I need is the girl" and "If I can't love her"). I was asking about NOCCA because I'm from New Orleans.

drum roll please.....i missed my audition. Some jerk rear-ended me when i was trying to merge onto I-75. My car is non-functioning at the moment and the cops took forever to show up. By the time they finally did arrive, i was sobbing b/c i knew I would miss it.

Mackie, I am SO sorry. That is terrible. I don't know what to say to make it better, but I'll send thoughts and hopes your way that it was meant to be for you to be accepted and enroll at one of your other schools.

Try calling the school and explaining it. Perhaps they will offer you another time? I tried this with one school where my D had a conflict and couldn't attend, and was pleasantly surprised at the offer, which I wasn't expecting at all! We did know in advance, but just a few days!

Tashmu, that is a great idea. A school may very well understand these circumstances (I would hope).
My only concern is I think Mackie was auditioning in Atlanta and so would have to go to NYC to audition for MM, but it is possible perhaps?

I was so miserable in school today. I would do anything for another chance. I should call right now b/f they close.

They rescheduled it without a problem. I just told them that I had an accident. I didn't even have to go into the miserable details. So, my new audition is on April 14 in NYC. Now all I have to do is call one of my great aunts and ask for a place to crash =( But yay! b/c MMC was one of my top choices.
