Hi everyone! I’m new to this forum so I apologize if I’m posting this thread in the wrong place.
Anyways, I will be auditioning for the graduate program in jazz studies at McGill University in Montreal, Canada in February, and was wondering if anyone had any insight into what the audition process is like there? I’m open to hearing all experiences, whether it was an audition for grad or undergrad. I’ve already completed the application process so I’m just waiting for an exact day and time to audition at this point. Hoping I can get some advice here!
I know the program is competitive at McGill, and I’ve been practicing my butt off to prepare for this and as McGill is my top choice, but I was wondering, what exactly do they look for when selecting students for their grad school program?
Some background info:
I am a current undergraduate jazz studies major on saxophone at James Madison University. I play alto and bari saxophone, as well as a little bass clarinet.
Thanks in advanced guys!
