Do I have to pay the August bill before registration?

I was wondering the same thing :)…

On my August bill it says it’s due Sept 7, so I guess that’s when you have to pay for it.

Yea i think the deadline is Sept 7th. And this Aug bill is pretty much the premium for SHIP, right?

^Yep, typically the August bill is the premium for SHIP unless a student has a previous balance. The payment is due by the due date on the bill unless you already have adequate health insurance, in which case you’ll have to apply for a waiver: [Annual Health Insurance Enrollment/Waiver Process for Cornell Students](<a href=“Welcome | Student Health Benefits”>Welcome | Student Health Benefits)

It says I have a bill, but I’ve signed up on the monthly payment plan… so do I just ignore the bill?

To my knowledge, the payment plan doesn’t take into account charges that Cornell makes after the plan begins. So the August bill must be paid directly to the school and not through the payment plan…at least that’s how I’ve done it in the past. When in doubt, call the bursar’s office and they’ll clarify matters. =]

Yea plus the Aug bill is not that much. 1590 or a bit more depending on your SHIP plan. So why not just pay after you get to the school?

One question though. Seeing the premium cost on the bursar means that Cornell has signed me up for SHIP right? I don’t need to file a full app?

^Yeah, every student is automatically enrolled in the SHIP; so if you’re not already enrolled in a health insurance plan, you’re all set. However, if someone is already enrolled in a health insurance plan, he/she can apply to waive enrollment in the SHIP. Hope that helps! =]

Yeah, it’s only the SHIP. I was confused because I thought we had to “settle all financial accounts, including current semester tuition” before registration.
