SHIP Waiver

Hi, I have a few questions regarding waiving ship insurance.

So the waiver is due on August 31, and the SHIP bill is due Sep 7th, so is it fair to assume they will have approved everyone's waiver by then?

Is the waiver process completely online, or do you have to fax or mail them anything?

Thank you in advance.

I would recommend doing your waiver now because it takes time for Cornell to process. And yes waiver is completed online no need to mail/fax. Just do google search and you will find the waiver link.

Also, print your receipt and follow up. Do it well before the deadline. It will save you lots of $$$$.

what kind of “proof” do they expect us to provide?

proof that
1: you have coverage
2: you have coverage which meets Cornell’s requirement

Just get the details of your plan ready to go before you start filling out the online form. They take your word for it, but the questions are posted somewhere for you to be prepared. Takes just a few minutes.

They ask for insurance name and policy number. My guess is that they would send each insurance company a list of insurer’s (students) names for verification. I don’t believe they would just take people’s word for it.

They ask for deductible, maximum coverage and things like that. Deadline is August 31, I believe.
