I just got the financial aid packages for both. I thought the aid packages would make the decision for me. Nope..they are pretty much exactly equal. Austin College is much closer to where I live which is an advantage. Austin College also will take my AP credit, allowing me to graduate earlier. I will be visiting Trinity University soon. I would love to hear any and all feedback. PM me if you feel more comfortable. I am also very interested in the general social feel of the campus. Thank you so much!

I too was considering both of these colleges but decided against Trinity.
I found the website collegeniche really helpful because students are the ones posting reviews of the school, and it gives you an idea of what goes on.
There were several complaints that financial aid packages were slashed during sophomore year, and they received the packages in July when transfer to another school was no longer possible.
There were also some instances of hazing reported in the news.
I also compared the way the students talked. This sounds weird but hear me out. The grammar in the AC posts was a lot better, and their comments weren’t as juvenile. While someone at AC said the dating pool is limited, someone from Trinity said that they had to put on Trinity Goggles to be able to see any pretty girls, because none of the girls there were pretty.

Rather than have this thread end with the sentence above (from escalone regarding female attractiveness) which is offensive and ridiculous- I’ll reply even though the poster has surely chosen a school. Both are great TX liberal arts schools which are similar in size but just as different as they are alike. I encourage anyone considering them to visit the campuses. Of the two, my son choose Trinity. He decided that he wanted a school in an urban setting, and he liked the hilly, leafy campus; he also favored the vibe he initially got from the Trinity faculty and students. It was much easier for him to choose after a day long visit.

Trinity U’s urban location is definitely worth considering. I believe Trinity U meets full need for all students?
