Automatic Admission

@TheAvidSeeker Have you not filled out the Apply Texas Application yet? You will fill out your Sr course load on the application. Then, after you graduate, your final transcript will be sent by the school to the university.
They want to see your course load that you aren’t being a slacker and that you have the right courses for what major you are applying for. As far as courses helping for admissions, there is isn’t a course you could take to solidify your admissions but, for instance, if you want engineering, Calculus BC will look better than Pre-Cal.Admissions wants to see the rigor of your courses to know if you have the ability for the rigor of college courses.

Right. And in MyStatus there is a section where you fill in number of classes taken in each subject. You should get cracking. You are an auto admit. You have good scores. What are you waiting for?

My essays. I need to make sure they are 100 right, especially because I am applying for plan ii. @gettingschooled

@gettingschooled I’ve been thinking about this and it made me wonder. How can a college tell that the score you send them matches with the applicant account? In other words, how can UT tell that the SAT score I sent them directly from college board is linked to my applytexas application? I don’t know how they would verify that. Do you have any possible explanations?

You don’t send a score. College board and ACT send it. They probably match by social security number. Not sure. It works.

I’ll cut you slack on Plan II essays and being careful. Good luck.

@gettingschooled ok.
But you’re able to send scores before finishing application right?

Yes and they hold them in some kind of database waiting for your application to show up and match. My S sent scores and transcripts electronically before the app and when he got his MyStatus account, they were there.

@gettingschooled Do you have any possible ideas/guesses of when a safe time to submit housing app is? Let’s say I want to get Jester West, when would be the latest I could apply and still get it. Again, I don’t expect you to know, just a guess based on your son’s application process or other people you know.

I cannot guess very well on that. My S applied August 2 but then decided he wanted to live in a private dorm. He never got far enough in the process to find out what he would get. I am pretty sure he would have gotten San Jac but don’t KNOW.

He has friends who also applied in August/September in San Jac and Duren. He has others who waited until November who were able to get San Jac and Duren because they were listed as preferred roommates to someone who applied early enough. So do you have friends who applied early?

Does anyone had seen Complete to InReview status change in Mystatus? AutoAdmit?

@Ven1999 My daughter’s status says: Your application for admission is complete. We have all the items we need to complete your application. Check this page often for an update on the state of your application. Then there is a note about calculus readiness (she is currently taking AP Calc B/C). Hers does not say In Review anywhere. She applied to Eng. the first week of August.

@NotSoPatient Mine also says the same. Thanks for the info
