Class Rank

I am in the auto admit range for UT Austin based on my last transcript of Junior Year. As a rising senior, when I apply will they only use the transcript from the ending of my Junior year Or will I have to send in my most updated transcript. My school is sending out the first transcripts of Senior year around November, and if it happens that I apply after the new transcript comes out, and I drop out of the auto admit, will I lose my auto admission status. Or like I said will they use my transcript from the end of junior year, NO MATTER when I apply.
Thanks

They base auto-admission off your ending junior transcript. You only have to send your final transcript at the end of the year to prove you graduated.

You can’t send in updated transcripts with a higher rank to increase chances of getting in? I understand that it takes the end junior transcript to get in automatically, but for increasing chances of getting in a major, you can’t send updated transcripts to increase the likelihood of getting in? knowing that UT is very rank based.

As far as I know, they only consider updated rank in an appeal, especially since you’re already and auto admit and will likely be accepted to the university before your first senior semester is over. I know that doesn’t help you out for McCombs, but unless you’re able to increase your rank dramatically, it’s not going to improve your chances that much anyway.

Does UT place any emphasis on weighted and unweighted GPA? I have a 3.85 UW and a 4.85 W. I feel as if I had been to a less competitive school, I would have been a lot higher in rank. That’s why I’m wondering if they consider GPA, because it gives context.

@TheAvidSeeker For in state high schools that rank UT does not consider GPA. For McCombs and Cockrell UT calculates your Academic Index, AI using three factors. Your class rank, ACT or SAT math score and ACT combined English/Essay score or SAT writing score. If you take both the ACT and SAT UT will use whichever gives you the highest AI score. UT calculates a Personal Achievement Index, PAI using the two required essays, ECs and then other circumstances such as first in family to go to college.

@TheAvidSeeker See the thread below. UT does not consider your GPA. It saves them a lot of headache trying to compare GPAs across schools. Just about everyone thinks their school is very competitive. They do consider the rigor of your classes so you’ll get the benefit of a competitive school through that.

@K20903 On the New SAT, what would this be? I know one has to be the math, but what would the other be since writing and reading are put together.

I don’t know for sure. I would assume that UT will use the combined score.

@K20903 Do you think a 1470+ on the new SAT is pretty competitive? What about a 1500
