automatic merit money

I doubt they have that many. They may offer 400 to get their yield but that seems high.

I found this on their website: “Approximately 1,800 students apply for the Honors Program each year and we have an incoming class of about 400 students annually.” Not real sure what their criteria is though.

Do they still have Honors and Scholars? 6 years ago, top 200 were accepted to Honors and next 500 to Scholars. I am not familiar with the benefits of being in Scholars though.

No, they got rid of scholars and extended honors from 200 to approximately 400 students.

When do they send out acceptances to the honors program? I applied to the honors program and got an early acceptance with half tuition to Farmer, but there was no mention of honors. Anyone ideas?

It depends. I got mine the same day I got my merit scholarship/ea acceptance, but I was told (by a friend applying who hasn’t yet heard) that the admissions office said it could be in february or slightly later…this could however, be inaccurate.

@MiamiDAP: Do you know why a FAFSA needs to be filed for MERIT scholarships?

@VABelle95 I was concerned about the same thing as our Son received a very generous Merit Aid award with his offer letter in December, but we do not plan on filing FAFSA (won’t qualify for anything except loans), so I just called the Office of Student Financial Aid and was told the Merit awards are based solely on gpa and test scores and do not need FAFSA form. The merit award is renewed every year after 1st based on maintaining a 3.0. hope that helps!
