Should I apply to some more out of state colleges? I really want to go to a state college and my econ teacher said I might have a bit of luck when looking out of state.

I think FSU is actually a good match.. My friends have been accepted into FSU with worst stats... One of my freinds had a higher SAT/ACT I think it was a 1200 something but a UW gpa of 3.1..Similar sport EC's and he got accepted.

If your essays as good as you say, I think you have a good chance.

I would say match for FSU. =)

The average fall SAT at FSU currently is 1218 with a 3.76 GPA. FSU is supposedly reducing freshmen enrollment by about 20% next admissions cycle, which will drive scores up.

Apply early.

On Friday FSU finally made it official - they are cutting 1000 spots in the freshmen class for 2008.

The target is 2000 freshmen for summer and 3300 for fall. Last year 6300 were admitted, this year is will only be 5300.

Numbers will be cut from the low academic (SAT/ACT/GPA) end of applicants still waiting on a decision and serious review will take place of accepted students' final hs grades.

500 spaces are also being cut from accepted transfers and only transfers with an AA degree will be accepted.
