Does anyone have statistics on what the average gpa is for current UCSB students?Specifically average engineering students' gpa. I've been searching and all I can find is gpa's for admission; I'm looking for gpa's of students already at UCSB. I'm transferring in the fall so I am curious on what gpa I should be shooting for once I get there. Thanks.

It’s not broken down by major, however.

Cool thanks. It looks like it’s safe to say they probably give out an equal number of a’s and c’s.

norris212: If you’re an engineering major, I can most certainly tell you that there is NOT the same number of C’s as there are A’s. I’m a freshmen Chemical Engineer, my science and math classes had around 15-25% A’s (including A-'s), and around 40-50% C’s. GE’s are normally even between C’s and A’s, however.

Do you know if upper division classes are the same? Those first math and science courses could be weeder classes.

I’m not sure what the current GPA is but trust me when I say you have to work hard for that A.
