Average GPAs by College

I recall seeing a list a few years back of the average GPAs of students in each college. Does anyone know where I can find it now, or do Cayuga et al. have these numbers memorized?

This discussion came up over brunch this morning. We were specifically curious about Engineering and ILR, which I believe are 2.8 and 3.4ish, respectively. A breakdown by majors would also be pretty cool to see, especially for programs like AEM.

I don't have the paper but I think it's floating around the internet somewhere.

If I remember correctly, the numbers were from 1995 approx. so fairly outdated. The GPA's are all higher now (due to the publishing of the median grade reports).

I think, at that time, engineering was at approx. 3.1. And all of the colleges were within approx. 0.1 of that. Nothing like 2.8 vs. 3.4.

Cornell doesn't calculate that information, so I don't think that we will ever know. You might be able to take a random sample of Cornell students in each college and determine that information using information you may have learned in a Cornell statistics course (lol), but I don't think it's published anywhere.

In CALS, I'm pretty sure only around 20-30% of students graduate with Latin honors (over a 3.5 GPA) which would suggest that the average GPA is lower than a 3.5. I would guess that ILR has a higher average GPA than the other schools.
