Does anyone know the average GPA and SAT scores required for Mendoza?
I have a 2090 SAT (770 M, 620 R, 700 W) and 93.54 GPA.
Btw I'm Asian if that helps.

Do you know What your class rank is? That’s more important than GPA. If you have a program like Naviance, check how students with your gpa do when applying schools. But your SAT score is pretty low compared to the school average of 1460, considering Mendoza is more competitive. Also, at a school like ND, you need more than just the GPA and the SAT score: you need competitive extracurriculars that sets your application apart from the other students. I wouldn’t recommend applying early action, but instead work on trying to get up your CR score to like a 700 or better.

I’m planning to apply Regular Decision and our school doesn’t rank but I meet the average gpa according to my H.S. I have great extracurriculars write well. I have 3 leadership positions, 2 internships, Math Team, MathMatters, etc.

MathMatters is an organization that tutors middle school students about complex math problems such as Prisoner’s Dillma and Monty Hall Problem.
Btw does ND look at the SAT writing score?

They don’t look at it as much, so unless it was incredibly awful or near perfect it wouldn’t matter. A 700 is fine.

I was looking at BusinessWeek since I’m interested in accounting and it said the average SAt score is 1419. <a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?;

Check out the stats for the class of 2018 at Notre Dame, <a href=“Class of 2018 arrives at Notre Dame // The Observer”>http://ndsmcobserver.com/2014/08/class-2018-arrives-notre-dame/
The data on the business week site is outdated.

Well I’m glad I’m in the low 25 percentile, but is the stats for Mendoza higher?

While I’m not sure, I’d assume they’re similiar, but that more draw students like athletes and heavy donor children would do business, which may mean it’s harder to get in without those draws. I honestly have no idea, that’s just conjecture. It also is the strongest college at the university- so strong that transfers can’t transfer into it, it’s difficult for current students to transfer into, and it now has separate admission, which may indicate that it’s more difficult to apply to. Without stats there’s really no way to really know.

ND admits all students to First Year of Studies. You can then choose Mendoza once admitted.

bus – eh, I’m not sure about that. Your understanding of the issue might be better than mine, but I thought the new program is that you put Mendoza on your app but you can also check a box saying that if you don’t get Mendoza, you still want to be considered for general admission. Everyone still does general studies first year, but most kids know at the time of acceptance whether or not they’re getting into Mendoza. At least that’s how I understood head of admissions when he spoke at a local event last month, but I may have misunderstood.

You folks could just go straight to the source:

http://admissions.nd.edu/admission-and-application/prospective-first-year-students/new-business-major-policy/

Bus52 is kind of correct in that all first years will still be part of the First Year of Studies. That will not change. What is changing under the new policy is that in order to enter Mendoza your sophomore year, you have to have been pre-approved/pre-admitted. You can’t just “choose” to enter Mendoza. They are also changing the admission policy for transfers. Under the old policy, prospective transfers were unable to apply to Mendoza. I believe that now a small number could potentially be admitted. My advice is that if you know you want to study business, apply. If you aren’t pre-approved for Mendoza, cross that bridge when you get to it. As for the OP, while your Math subscore is fine, and in fact places you in the 75th percentile, your CR is well below the 25th, and that could pose a problem.

so, basically, i was right haha. best wishes to the OP.

Yeah. Mendoza is like impossible for me though I haf great extracurriculars and recs.
Thx for feedback
