Hello!
As college D-day is approaching I find myself thinking about my acceptances/denials more and more. I’m an average student, 1900 SAT 3.94 UW GPA with several EC. I am highly interested in schools like Duke, JHU, Dartmouth, UChicago, Rice…only as super reach dreaming schools. I was curious to know if any student was in a similar position as I am, and can share their stories. I don’t mean 2350 SAT 3.99 GPA “Who knew I would get into Harvard!” type of stories, more “Never in my life did I think I would get in!” Ones.
Just for mere inspiration. Thank You!
Hey,
If it helps you, my sister got into Cornell with an 1850 and a 3.8 GPA. She has always been the one convincing me that numbers are not everything, and now that she is in Cornell, I am absolutely sure that numbers are NOT everything. You have wonderful grades, please do not demotivate yourself. I myself am aiming for Ivy Leagues, and trust me I am really average as well. My grades have progressed soooo much throughout the years. Believe it or not, 2350 scorers, 4.0 gpa and valedictorians of their class, do not get into such universities because of their personalities and what not. It is not even about the EC’s anymore, instead it’s more about your essays. Who would like to admit a 2350 valedictorian who just expresses his grades in his essay?
P.S- DO NOT STRESS.
Wow, talk about luck! That’s much more comforting, thank you. Although Cornell already rejected me (haha) I can only keep the faith they see me as more than numbers.
