@paul2752 oberlin is a top notch liberal arts school I don’t have a chance there

I like @MYOS1634 recommendations for Hiram College plus Washington and Jefferson College. Hiram is an especially good choice for anybody who has faced challenges in high school. Take a look. Yes, Hiram has computer science. W&J has computing and information systems.

I think that you probably could get into Ohio Wesleyan. It has computer science too. Excellent school.

Just to add my input about RIT. My sister is actually in the computer science program there now. The co-op program there is great; she’s been doing a paid internship with Microsoft, and is only a junior! She originally wasn’t too interested because it was kind of a safety school for her, but the co-op program has been excellent.

Why didnt you like IU?

@mikenan15
So we spent half a day at iu took tours and saw a class even, and honestly the campus was nice but the students giving tours were horrendous, stupid and incompetent. The students walking about were probably the lowest grade that a public university could offer. Honestly i know the judgement seems harsh but after seeing that, I really have no interest in it.

The problem with your evaluation of IU is that 1° it’s partial and 2° exactly the same type of students go to Purdue. So your liking one and disliking the other doesn’t make a lot of sense, unless you were passionate about STEM fields (which Purdue is known for but those majors are impacted, ie., there’s a further selection to get into the “good” ones). In addition, in my opinion, Bloomington>West Lafayette… so I’m afraid Purdue OOS (at OOS costs) for someone who didn’t like IU would be a huge expense for a poor fit.
Read the Fiske Guide, Insider’s Guide to the College, Princeton Review’s Best Colleges. Look for characteristics you like in a university.

I visited Purdue as well and felt perfectly comfortable so. It just how I felt I suppose
